Speech Title: Embracing Ubiquitous Battery-Free Internet-of-Things
Abstract
Internet-of-Things is essential for NI (New Infrastructure) in China. In this talk, I will talk about the cutting-edge UB-IoTs (Ubiquitous Battery-free Internet of Things), which we build to connect everything and empower industries. In particular, I will introduce novel designs for high-availability UB-IoT architectures and innovative high-throughput link layers, and applications for UB-IoT.
Biography
Wei Gong is a Professor of Computer Science at University of Science and Technology of China. His research interests include IoTs, wireless networks, and edge systems. He had also worked at SFU, UOttawa, and Tsinghua University. After receiving his B.E. in computer science at HUST, he went to Tsinghua University, where he was awarded his M.E. in software engineering and Ph.D. in computer science. In recent years, he has been pioneering in developing Ubiquitous Battery-free Internet of Things (UB-IoTs), which includes new paradigms for battery-free sensors, novel architectures for backscatter networks, and innovative UNID (Unification of Networking, Intelligent computing, and Data center) for edge systems.
